My name is Kevin and I will be giving a little background information about myself and how I got so interested in signing. I was brought into the world about 19 years ago in a little quaint apartment building right in the middle of the bustling Los Angeles. When I was about two, my parents wanted to get away from it all and decided to move to El Monte. It is here where my childhood began. My parents fostered my interest in education by putting me in karate class, art class, and taking me to science centers. It wasn't until 7th grade where my interest in singing began. It was at the end of 6th grade and my friend wanted me to tryout with him for the 7th grade choir. I was very reluctant because I wasn't really interested and in singing. I tried out with the song "Winter Wonderland" which was ironic because it was in July. But, the choir director loved my voice and I automatically got it into choir. I was really surprised because I did not expect this at all. But from then on I loved choir and singing because it made me forget about my troubles. Two years later, I tried out for the Glee chorus of Arroyo High School. I made it and I was ecstatic. It was like making it to Hollywood on American Idol! Over the next four years, I gained the experience needed to move on to the elite group which was A Cappella and Chamber Singers. By the end of my senior year, I traveled to choir competitions in San Fransisco, San Diego, and Las Vegas. I made a bunch of friends, a life time of memories, and the expertise need to be a better singer. As I left my high school behind and entered the University of California, Irvine, I used that expertise to try out for the University Chorus. It was hard and I realized that I had a lot more to learn. But I am trying my best and the process can be tedious but it is always fun and always makes my day!
